This photo was taken many years before the nationwide campaign of Mao Mai Khab, i.e. ‘Drunk - Don't Drive’... later rephrased as Mao Mai Klab, i.e. ‘[Get] Drunk - Don't Go Back [Home]’!

However, when we during a road trip stopped our car at this roadside police station to ask for directions (pre-Google maps and GPS), these friendly police officers insisted in drinking a couple of glasses of whiskey (!) with them before they let us continue our way! Amazing Thailand...
