When the ice is taken from the mould it is sawn into smaller cubes for shipping.

 

These blocks of ice are then delivered to shops that don't have electricity for cooling, especially shops on markets, where it is usually crushed and either put into large cooling boxes, typically used to cool drinks, or on special metal tables with a rim and a hole to drain the melt water, typically used to cool and display fish and seafood.
