  pla tu (steamed)

Thailand

Steamed pla tu, recognizable by the sharp fin-like scales on either side of the tail. Typically, the head of the fish is often bent to an angle almost at right to the body, to allow it to fit into the bamboo steaming baskets, known as kheng.
