Bamboo fungus is a kind of net-bearing mushroom used as an ingredient in Chinese haute cuisine (fig.).

 

Its name derives from the fact that it grows among bamboo groves in southern China, where it is called zhu sheng. It has a net-like structure hanging down from its conical cap, which gave it the nickname veiled lady.
