  Tian Du Yuan Shuai

Thailand

Statue of Tian Du Yuan Shuai, a Taoist deity, also referred to as Lao Ye (fig.), who is considered the guardian of the performing arts, especially for traditional Chinese Opera, at Phra Phuttha Ming Mongkhon Eknaak Khiri in Phuket. He is typically depicted with a black complexion, holding a pot with a yin-yang lid, wielding an ax, and—similar to Nezha, the youthful Chinese deity and warrior—standing with one foot on a Wheel of Fire.
