  Apsara Dance

Cambodia

Whereas Apsara are the celestial dancers of the Tavatimsa heaven, i.e. female divinities or nymphs, in art Apsara Dance is the Khmer equivalent of Khon, i.e. Thai Classical Dance (fig.), and equally makes use of hand positions (mudra) in combination with the position of the body (ram tha) to express different situations, thoughts and feelings.
