Kasetsart University in Bangkok, established on 2 February 1943, was the country's first agricultural university and the third university in Thailand, and nowadays is the largest university in the nation.

At the main entrance is a pond with a statue based on the university's logo (fig.), i.e. Phra Phirun (fig.), the Thai god of rain, holding a sword upright while standing on the back of a naga (fig.).
