  Wild Tiger Corps

King Wachirawut, i.e. Rama VI, with some members of the Wild Tiger Corps, the paramilitary corps which he founded on 6 May 1911, in order to train government officials, as well as civilians on military drills.

 

His conviction was that such a training would instill a sense of discipline and loyalty to the country, the monarchy and religion. It was also known as the Seua Pa Volunteer Unit and on 1 July 1911, the Look Seua, i.e. the Tiger Cubs (fig.), emanated from it as its junior division (fig.).
