Thousands of satang coins used for tamboon sai baht (fig.), in which worshippers change money into coins which they use to fill a number of alms bowls.

 

These alms bowls are arranged in one or more long rows and are typically 108 in number, symbolizing the 108 auspicious signs of a buddha.
