Chao Ngo (fig.) in the story of Sangthong (fig.) is in fact Chao or Prince Phra Sang disguised as an ugly ogre of the Ngo tribe, hiding his golden body underneath this black complexion and curly hair. Hence today, dolls of Ngo are by Thais believed to somehow attract gold or riches.
