So-called white tigers are not albinos, but tigers with a genetic condition that all but eliminates fur pigmentation. White tigers are rather scarce in the wild, but are widely bred in captivity.

 

This one lives at Singapore Zoo (fig.), where they are kept in enclosures similar to their natural habitat rather than in cages.
