The escutcheon of Nong Bua
Lamphu has the image of king
Naresuan in front of a
sala holding the Sword of State (Phra
Saeng). In the background there are mountains (phu) and a marshland (nong)
with lotus flowers (bua). About 900 years ago this town was called Nong Bua Lumphu,
a reference to both the lowlands (lum) and the mountains (phu). It was then part
of Krung Sri Sattanah Khonhut. |
