Chua Van Phat, i.e. a Mahayana Buddhist temple in Saigon's Chinatown district known as Cholon, is in English referred to as the Temple of the Ten Thousand Buddhas.

 

The walls of this Mahayana Buddhist temple in Ho Chi Minh City are decorated with thousands of small Buddha images, said to represent the words spoken by the Buddha. The principal Buddha image in the main hall is flanked to the left with a statue of Puxian, the bodhisattva of truth (fig.) riding an elephant (fig.), with six, i.e. three pairs of tusks (fig.) and holding an open book...

... and to the right with a statue of Wen Shu (fig.), the bodhisattva of learning and wisdom riding a lion and holding a ruyi (fig.) in the form of a lotus.
