Making merit or tamboon in a brief ceremony at Wat Phra Siwa Chao, i.e. a Thai Hindu sanctuary in Bangkok (fig.), by making a wai gesture while holding a small cup with offerings in between both hands.

 

In this ritual, visitors are invited to offer paddy, i.e. unhusked rice, mixed with rice flour, in order to pay respect and gain merit.
