Krajab (fig.) or Thai water chestnuts have the shape of a bull's or buffalo's head and the off-white nut is covered with a thin black skin. In English it is known as water caltrop, but due to its distinctive shape it also has a number of allusive epithets, such as buffalo nut, mustache nut, devil pod, and bat nut.
