Since the
Buddha
reached
Enlightenment seated under a
bodhi
tree, this tree is often found in temple yards, as
seen here in Wat Sri Sawai
in
Sukhothai (picture on the left) and
at a temple in Chonburi (picture below). The tree also is often depicted in Buddhist art (fig.).
