Besides the display of snakes, the snake farm in Bangkok obtains venom from poisonous snakes, which is used to produce antidotes against snake bites.

Bangkok's snake farm is related to the Thai Red Cross Society (fig.) and the procedure of snake ‘milking’ for venom is shown daily in regular demonstrations (fig.).
