PROVINCIAL ESCUTCHEON
Phitsanulok
The escutcheon of Phitsanulok shows the Phraphoet Chinnarat image (fig.) from Wat Phra Sri Rattanamahathat. It is appreciated as one of the most beautiful Buddha images in Thailand and was cast in the 14th century during the rule of king Phra Mahadhammaracha Lithai of Sukhothai.
