Chakri
Sirindhorn,
and depicts a
tiger catching a
bat. Since the
Chinese word for bat, i.e.
fu
(蝠),
is
homophonous, that is, has
phonetic resemblance
with the word
foo
(福),
which means
‘blessing’, ‘good luck’ and
‘happiness’, it
conveys good luck and fortune and thus holds auspicious significance. This
association is hence akin to wishing everyone prosperity and good fortune in
the Year of the Tiger. |
